I took out the camera for Baltimore Pride and got a few good snaps. I don’t know why I always forget to change the exposure setting when I am shooting in bright daylight. That’s why some of these look a bit washed out. There’s a nice clean quality about them that I like, so it doesn’t bother me at all.

MIss Ada Buffet. I can’t remember what her title is but I know she was Miss Trailer Trash one year.

I loved watching this queen. She was really enjoying herself…she was sooo happy, but she had a hard time taking direction. I had to tell her where to stand about five times before she came close enough to where I was saying.

I got all up in Sheila Dixon’s face for this one. She relaxed for the photo then, “Why are you so close??!” One of her people then said, “Old school Polaroid.”

This girl looked so interesting leaning against this wall…almost comically tragic. When I asked to take her photo, she couldn’t stop smiling and I haven’t had to tell someone not to smile so many times as I had to tell her.

A few more photos from my friend Debbie’s party the other night.

The lovely Eric Rose!

Nicole Wittelsburger, who I have photographed to much greater effect here.

My good buddy Debbie Morrison had a nice party the other night and I actually took a good handful of Polaroids which I will put up over the course of the next few days. Here is the hostess with the mostest…

I don’t usually rave about any of my work, but I do LOVE this Polaroid of Vanessa Vail. She looked stunning as usual and I think I finally captured that in this mouth-watering photo.

I don’t think he liked this one.

My buddy, the mad genius Andy Gore, holds a fresh, custom screenprinted t-shirt which I am now the proud owner of. The image of Vincent Price is from the film Masque of the Red Death and has been a favorite of mine for years. His secret hide-a-way is a feast for the eyes.

I was my friend Marishka’s date to see the B-52s the other day and a day can not be easily improved on when wrapped up with a surprise B-52s show. THANKS MARISHKA!

It’s always a gamble taking Polaroids at a live show because you can’t usually get that close and we all know that Polaroids look best up close. I had taken a few Polas of the B-52s at this same venue before and only a few so-so shots Here, Here and Here. Since the last show, the Rams Head Live (this venue) added an awful barrier which made getting close to the stage even harder…so I was lucky just to get these.
In the photo above, Cindy actually was looking right at me and I desperately wanted her to come closer, I motioned for her to “come to meeeeee”…but she only smiled and gave me the look as seen above. I had done that before to Exene of X and it worked.

Everyone in the band looked fantastic. Keith Strickland especially looks great…the man does not age. And though I wished they performed all of Mesopotamia, I was satisfied w/ just the title track and was thrilled that they did “Give Me Back My Man”. Fish + Candy + Cindy Wilson = Heaven

Helene Grabow works at the BMA and helped organize the Baker Artist show. She was great to work with and made the experience fun and effortless. The photo below was taken at the Charles Village Pub.

My good friend Jason Dove was at the CVP when we arrived. Apparently he likes to go there to play video games!

I loved this phone and recruited Jeremy to help me indulge in some Poladrama.

All of the Baker Artist Award winners and people involved with the project got together for a nice dinner at Gertrude’s at the BMA yesterday. It was fun to see everyone again after the first stressful time we met before they announced the winners Carl Grubbs, Hadieh Shafie and John Ruppert.
It was Cinco de Mayo so may of us decided that Margaritas had to be a part of our night.

Hadieh Shafie in front of one of her art pieces.
All of our work will be up at the Baltimore Museum of Art until June 28th, so try to check it out. We’re all in the contemporary wing and Hadieh’s stuff looks fantastic and gets full treatment at the top of the second floor landing.

Carl Grubbs at Gertrudes
Baker Winner, Carl Grubbs will be performing at the BMA this summer. He asked me if I would come talk to his students about photography and I said, “Well I can’t really talk too much about the technical stuff because that’s not my thing.” He said, “They’re only five years old, so I don’t think they’d care about that.” I love kids that age so I look forward to it.
Vincent Thomas at the BMA. Vincent, like myself, was one of the People’s Choice winners.
