Drag Queens & Sheila Dixon

I took out the camera for Baltimore Pride and got a few good snaps. I don’t know why I always forget to change the exposure setting when I am shooting in bright daylight. That’s why some of these look a bit washed out. There’s a nice clean quality about them that I like, so it [...]

Encounters at the Senator

My friend Liz got me out of the house again this week…a very welcome break from my winter hibernation. I’ll keep this entry short, but we did make a bunch of stops and each stop will be its own entry, starting with the Senator theater benefit

Tattooed Love Gods

I don’t typically shoot much Polaroid film during the winter months, so updates here have been spotty, but I am still shooting and have plenty of Spectra film to last through 2009. I HAD to go to Michael Alago’s opening at S.C. Lord Design Studio on Saturday. You can read my story about him and [...]

Newlyweds

I love taking photos of newlyweds whether I know them or they are total strangers. I was flattered to be asked to shoot Chris Lalchan’s wedding back in November. It went beyond flattery when he announced to his wedding guests that I was a “Baltimore Legend”. Wow…what in introduction!

Band Poster for Art-I-Ficial Show

I am starting to get excited about my show on Friday…I think it’s going to look pretty good. And I’m happy to be seeing Joyce DeSalvo again! The City Paper came out today and I got a Critic’s Pick.

Art-I-Ficial at Metro Gallery

In just over a week I will have a show at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore and need to start getting the word out. I will be showing work that spans the past 20 years with a collection of fifty photographs. The name of the show is Art-I-Ficial, named in part by the X-Ray Spex [...]

More Rocky Horror

More Polaroids from the Rocky Horror production at Orpheus. I do have to say that me and my friend Drew were somewhat appalled that the person who played Frank N. Furter did not know the words to the songs. I know that casting was difficult, but how about learning these classic songs before “performing” them??
I [...]

Columbia

Last night I went to see a small production of Rocky Horror that my friend Steve was in. It was no surprise that I became smitten with the girl who played Columbia since she has always been my favorite character. I have a few more photos that I will post, but here are the ones [...]

Best of Baltimore Party

The City Paper threw their annual Best of Baltimore party on Thursday (Sept. 18th) and I found myself not wanting to take many Polaroids because at one point or another, I had shot nearly everyone I knew that was there. In fact, I only took one shot at the actual party, which was held [...]

Naked Baltimore

This show was a long time in coming, but it was worth the wait. Three years ago the City Paper had a “nude room” at their “Best of Baltimore” party where photographers Jefferson Jackson Steele and Uli Loskot shot party guests who were drunk enough to pose nude.  We all knew that eventually these photos [...]
